Pehchan Spotlights Homeless Photographers on World Homeless Day

Mumbai, India – October 10, 2025

Today, on #WorldHomelessDay eleven photographers from Mumbai’s homeless community were honoured for their work and creativity featured in the ‘My Mumbai Calendar 2025.’ The project, led and initiated by Pehchan, celebrates their creativity and unique perspectives on the city of Mumbai.

Using FUJIFILM single-use cameras, these photographers captured wonderful images of Mumbai. They are among forty participants in the initiative, who together produced a remarkable 1,107 photographs. Their work offers in-depth glimpses into the city they call home.

The selected photographs are featured in the 2025 calendar, and the artists were be recognised in a special ceremony today. Renowned RTI activist @Anil Galgali presented the honours, which included cash prizes, medals, and gifts.

Through their unique perspectives, the photographs reflect a deep love for the city of Mumbai and reveal a creative spirit that often goes unseen.”
